As a Ph.D. trained family therapist, I work with individual, families, couples, and groups. Some of my speciality areas include working with couples, depression, anxiety, addiction, parenting, gays and lesbians, older adults, and family relationships.
Individual counseling gives people a safe, one-on-one space to talk openly, build trust, and work through challenges at their own pace. In these sessions, a licensed therapist tailors support to the individual’s goals, personality, and life experiences, helping them better understand thoughts, emotions, and behavior patterns. Therapists often draw from a range of proven approaches, such as cognitive behavioral therapy to address unhelpful thinking, solution-focused therapy to build practical coping skills, trauma-informed care to promote healing and safety, and mindfulness-based methods to improve emotional regulation. By combining insight, skill-building, and consistent support, individual counseling can help people gain clarity, strengthen resilience, and make meaningful, lasting changes in their lives.
